Printer Setup

Note : -
1.This setting will work only for thermal printers.

2. If no POS Terminal or Kitchen is selected in any setting , the system will default to popup print in a new window (with PDF output).

New/Update Printing Setting :- 

1. Title (To identify printer easily)

 - Printer Setting Name 

  • Example: POS Printer


2. Select Kitchen

 - Select the printer to one or more kitchens if it's intended for kitchen KOT printing. This setting will be use for all selected Kitchens.

  • Example Options:

    • Default Kitchen

    • Kitchen 1

    • Beverage Station


3. Select POS Terminal

 - Select the printer to POS terminal if it's intended for POS (Order) printing. This setting will be use for the selected POS.

  • Example Options:

    • Default POS Terminal


4. Is Default

     - If checked, sets this printer as the default printing setting.


7. Printing Choice

  • Direct Print – Immediate print via USB or Wireless Printing.

  • Browser Popup – Default printing like print popup with new window in pdf.


8. Printer Type


  • USB Printer – Directly connected via USB. Check details below.

  • Network Printer – Network printer via IP. Check details below.


9. Printer Name

     - The printer’s system name or identifier (should match the name as registered by the OS or connected device).

  • Example: POS80-2


10. Print Format

  • Thermal 80mm – Standard thermal roll size for most POS printers.

  • Thermal 56mm

  • Thermal 112mm



USB Printer

For Windows

1️⃣ Connect the printer via USB cable.
     - USB cable connected to printer and laptop

2️⃣ Install the driver/software (usually auto-installs or available on manufacturer’s website).
    - Windows driver installation prompt

3️⃣ Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
    - Printers & Scanners window

4️⃣ Select the printer and copy the exact name.
     - Printer list with name highlighted

5️⃣ In your application:
- Print Choice: Direct Print
- Printer Type: USB Printer
    - Name: Paste copied printer name

 

For macOS

1️⃣ Connect printer via USB.
    - USB connection on MacBook

2️⃣ Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
     - macOS Printers & Scanners panel

3️⃣ Add printer if not listed automatically.
     - Add Printer dialog

4️⃣ Copy printer name and configure in app as above.

 

For Linux (Ubuntu)

1️⃣ Connect printer via USB.
     - Ubuntu device notification

2️⃣ Go to Settings > Printers > Add Printer.
    - Ubuntu printer settings

3️⃣ Copy printer name for app configuration.

Wireless / IP Printer Setup

For Windows

1️⃣ Connect printer to Wi-Fi (use printer display or software).
    - Printer display showing Wi-Fi connected

2️⃣ Find IP address (printer display / router device list).
    - Router interface showing connected printer IP

3️⃣ Configure in app:
- Print Choice: Direct Print
- Printer Type: Network Printer
- Printer IP Address: Enter printer IP
    - Port: Default 9100

 

For macOS

Same as Windows. Use System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > IP to verify connection.
Add IP printer in macOS

 

For Linux (Ubuntu)

1️⃣ Connect printer to network.

2️⃣ Go to Printers > Add > Network Printer > Enter IP.
     - Ubuntu network printer setup
